The London
School of Hygiene & Tropical Medicine (LSHTM) has since 2000 been involved in
a number of contemporary art activities including commissions
of new work and exhibitions.
The last large exhibition, in 2005, was The
Healers, an exhibition
of African art.
2004 saw the completion of two major commissions for the new North
Courtyard Building, by Grenville Davey and Richard Layzell, for more

These web pages describe the various activities in the contemporary
arts programme at the School. For more information click on the links

The Visual Arts Programme has benefited from curatorial input and
inspiration from Central Saint Martins College of Art & Design,
and financial support from the Wellcome Trust and the Calouste Gulbenkian
Foundation in addition to the London School of Hygiene & Tropical

With new funding, the School will be embarking on a further programme of commissioned, site-specific art installations in 2010.
